Given that we all have a wholesale buy price we all need to have a margin in order to be profitable. Share holders, Owners we all like to make money, we/they do not provide the services we/they provide for nothing.

What we mean by smoke and mirros is simply hidding your sell prices in amongst other things and hidding the truth but also creating images like in a mirror with pretty little seemingly free stuff.

If a services provider offers you free local calls he will want to make up the margin he looses on local calls in other area, i.e. by increasing the cost of calls to mobile or STD or both. It is not rocket science it is simply SMOKE & MIRRORS
